ESPN Radio New York 98.7’s Hahn & Humpty Moves to Midday Slot

ESPN New York 98.7FM’s Hahn & Humpty, hosted by Alan Hahn and former Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro, debuted in its new midday spot from noon to 3 p.m. ET yesterday, Sept. 8. The duo had co-hosted their weeknight show (7 – 10 p.m.) since October 2014. Longtime New York broadcaster Bill Daughtry will continue on the show daily.
Hahn & Humpty will welcome new contributors to the show. During the NFL season, ESPN Monday Night Football commentator Mike Tirico will join the show Fridays at 2:30 p.m. to preview the upcoming MNF game. Also, Bronx native and former New York Giants and current Baltimore Ravens defensive end Chris Canty will make appearances every week, and former New York Jets coach Mike Westhoff and former Jets quarterback Ray Lucas will also join weekly. During the NBA season, Howie C and Gerald Brown of SiriusXM’s The Bottom Line Sports Show will appear weekly.
“This is an absolute thrill for me,” said Hahn. “I grew up on sports talk radio in New York and through almost 20 years as a newspaper beat writer and broadcaster in this city I am so grateful for this opportunity at 98.7 ESPN. Rick and I offer listeners something no other show in New York provides: perspective from an experienced reporter and a professional athlete.”
Added DiPietro: “After spending 13 years as a professional athlete, ESPN New York has given me the opportunity to do what I love most, talk sports. Alan and I have had one goal since we started together, and that is to keep our listeners informed and entertained. Like we always say there will be no excuses and we will talk sports like champions.”
A native New Yorker, Hahn has been a 98.7FM host since 2012 when he began as a regular contributing host, then in 2013, he hosted The Alan Hahn Show. In 2000, the New York Islanders made DiPietro the first overall pick in the NHL Draft.
