Longhorn Network has hired former Texas linebacker Emmanuel Acho as an analyst for the remainder of the 2015-16 school year. Acho will appear on LHN’s five-hour, live Signing Day show, which begins at 7 a.m. CT on Wednesday, Feb. 3. He will also contribute to Longhorn Extra, the network’s news and information show, throughout the spring.
Acho has spent four years in the NFL since being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2012. After being traded in 2013, he’s spent the past three years with the Philadelphia Eagles. He’s currently entering free agency.
A first-team All-Big 12 performer during his senior year in 2011 and the recipient of the 2010 Arthur Ashe Award, Acho has appeared previously for LHN during his NFL offseasons, on shows including Texas GameDay, Texas Pro Day and Longhorn Extra. He’s in his last semester of graduate school at Texas, majoring in Sports Psychology.
“We’ve been intrigued by Emmanuel’s television future since he first started appearing on our shows as a player in 2011,” said LHN Coordinating Producer Tom McCollum. “He brings a great deal of personality and expertise, and we’re excited to have him in a more regular role on LHN this spring.”
