ESPN Radio’s 19th Major League Baseball Season Highlighted by Opening Night World Series Rematch; Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers also Showcased
ESPN Radio’s 19th Major League Baseball season of 74 games will include multiple appearances from several top teams including the defending World Series Champion Kansas City Royals, the defending National League Champion New York Mets, the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox and the San Francisco Giants. The season begins on Opening Day with a rematch of last year’s World Series as Eric Hosmer and the Royals host Yoenis Cespedes and the Mets on Sunday, April 3, at 7 p.m. ET*. Play-by-play commentator Jon Sciambi and analyst Chris Singleton will return to call the season’s action.
ESPN Radio will broadcast several of MLB’s premier rivalries including the Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the Giants on Saturday, April 16, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 17, at 7 p.m. Also, the Yankees and Red Sox will face each other four times in this year’s schedule, on May 1, May 8, and July 16-17.
ESPN Radio will also be home to the Gillette Home Run Derby and the 87th MLB All Star Game from Petco Park in San Diego, on Monday, July 11, and Tuesday, July 12, respectively. Every MLB postseason game will be broadcasted for the 19th consecutive year. Postseason coverage will include any potential tie-breaker games, Wild Card games, National and American League Division Series, National League Championship Series, the American League Championship Series and the World Series. In addition, the Fort Bragg Game between the Miami Marlins and the Atlanta Braves, celebration of the country’s military heroes, will broadcast on Sunday, July 3, at 7 p.m.
All MLB on ESPN Radio games will be preceded by the one-hour Baseball Tonight pregame show offering news, previews and analysis of upcoming games. As the season progresses, additional matchups on ESPN Radio will be announced. All games will be available on ESPN Radio, ESPNRadio.com and the ESPN mobile app.
