Year three of College Football Playoff rankings will unofficially begin Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, when College Football Playoff Top 25 returns to look at the road to college football’s championship game. Airing Tuesday nights throughout the fall, the one-hour show will review teams’ wins and losses each week and the potential implications on their post-season hopes.
Hosted by Rece Davis with analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Joey Galloway, Danny Kanell, David Pollack and Paul Finebaum appearing in studio and via satellite, the first three weeks will preview top teams and rankings. Then, on November 1, and each Tuesday thereafter, the College Football Playoff Committee’s weekly Top 25 rankings will be exclusively revealed at the top of the show followed by a live interview with committee chairman Kirby Hocutt, who will provide insights into the committee’s decisions, as well as by coaches reacting to their team’s rankings.
The November 15 edition of College Football Playoff: Top 25 will be aired at approximately 9 p.m. from the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden. The rankings will be revealed live in between the Kentucky vs. Michigan State and Duke vs. Kansas basketball games.
On Sunday, Dec. 4, the four-hour College Football Playoff Selection Day special beginning at noon, will present the exclusive reveal of the College Football Playoff Semifinal matchups for Saturday, Dec. 31 at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and Fiesta Bowl, as well as matchups for the remaining four New Year’s Six bowl games and the final Top 25 rankings.
