X Games Aspen 2017: 16 Hours of Live Coverage on ESPN and ABC

Additional Seven Hours of Competition Carried on X Games Social and Digital Platforms

X Games Aspen 2017 will feature 16 hours of extensive coverage and live content distributed on ESPN, ABC, WatchESPN, WatchABC and the ESPN App from January 26 – 29. An additional seven hours of competition will be carried exclusively on the X Games YouTube Channel and hosted on XGames.com. Extensive coverage will also feature across ESPN digital and social platforms, including XGames.com, the X Games Aspen App, and X Games on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and more.

Fans will have the opportunity to watch all the action, get an inside look at the event and establish a two-way conversation with X Games, athletes and other viewers.

Following X Games Aspen 2017, ABC will deliver four hours of anthology programming on Saturday, Feb. 4 and a one-hour special on World of X Games: Best of X Games Aspen 2017 on Feb. 11.

In addition to all of the content on ESPN’s U.S.-based media platforms, X Games Aspen 2017 will be televised globally in 215 countries and territories to more than 365 million homes, including live coverage in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and multiple countries in Europe, including Norway, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Sweden and U.K.

The X Games Aspen 2017 telecast officially kicks off on ESPN with a world-class field in the Women’s Snowboard Big Air and The Real Cost Men’s Snowboard SuperPipe on Thurday, Jan. 26 at 10 p.m. ET, and concludes on Sunday, Jan. 29, beginning at 12 p.m. ET with the Women’s Ski Slopestyle. Witness several generations of X Games stars, including Chloe Kim, Mark McMorris, Ayumu Hirano, Shaun White, Cassie Sharpe, Hailey Langland, Jossi Wells, Kelly Sildaru, and Jamie Anderson and Heath Frisby, all vying for X Games gold and prize money.

This year’s telecast team will be co-hosted by Jack Mitrani and X Games newcomer Allison Hagendorf, and coverage will include Brandon Graham, Cameron Steele, Chris Burandt, Craig McMorris, Luke Van Valin and Victoria Arlen. X Games gold medalists Jen Hudak and Tom Wallisch will also make their debut as part of the telecast team.

X Games Headquarters (XHQ)
The X Games Aspen telecast will debut a new X Games host set – XHQ – serving as a cultural hub to discuss and explore relevant topics to the action sports community with top X Games athletes and musical talent. Topics will also include X Games content initiatives such as Shred Hate, the X Games bully-prevention campaign, Zoom Photography Competition, World of X Games series and more.  Expected guests include Danny Davis, Gus Kenworthy, Jossi Wells, G-Eazy and more.

X Games Aspen 2017 digital platforms include:

XGames.com will host seven hours of competition on Thursday and Friday and provide onsite coverage from Aspen with live results, video of the week’s best competition runs and full-bleed photo galleries shot by the best creative talent in the action sports industry.

X Games Aspen App
The app, which is compatible with iPhone and Android, puts the world’s premier action sports event right at your fingertips, making it easier than ever to access schedules, view the event map and keep up with the top names and hottest news coming out of Aspen. This free app is a must have for X Games fans attending X Games Aspen and is available for download now.

Over the four days, WatchESPN and the ESPN App will stream 16 hours of live content from ESPN and ESPN Deportes on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices. WatchESPN is available to more than 90 million households nationwide in the U.S. at no additional cost to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.
