ESPN’s coverage of the NCAA Division I Softball Championship continues with exclusive telecasts of the Super Regionals beginning Thursday, May 25, and continuing through Sunday, May 28, with up to 24 games from eight campus sites. The eight, best-of-three series will be televised across ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU with the victorious teams advancing to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The top eight seeds advanced from the Regional round to host a Super Regional, highlighted by No. 1 seed Florida, which will host No. 16 Alabama (Gainesville Super Regional). There are four west coast Super Regionals sites: No. 2 Arizona vs. No. 15 Baylor (Tucson), No. 3 Oregon vs. No. 14 Kentucky (Eugene), No. 6 Washington vs. No. 11 Utah (Seattle) and No. 5 UCLA vs. No. 12 Ole Miss (Los Angeles). Rounding out the sites: No. 4 Florida State vs. No. 13 LSU (Tallahassee), No. 7 Auburn vs. defending national champion and No. 10 seed Oklahoma (Auburn) and No. 8 Tennessee vs. No. 9 Texas A&M (Knoxville). ESPN Commentators
ESPN’s Jessica Mendoza, now a MLB analyst working Sunday Night Baseball, returns to ESPN’s softball coverage for the Super Regionals. Mendoza, who began her career with ESPN as a college softball analyst and has called the WCWS for a number of years, will work with fellow college softball analyst Michele Smith, play-by-play commentator Beth Mowins and reporter Holly Rowe in Los Angeles.

Softball analyst Amanda Scarborough along with commentator Eric Colllins will be in Gainesville, Fla., for the call of the SEC matchup between the Crimson Tide and the Gators. Mendoza, Smith, Rowe and Mowins will be paired for the Women’s College World Series, as well as Scarborough joining play-by-play commentator Adam Amin and reporter Laura Rutledge.   • Honors: Two-time All-American (2005, ’07); only player in Big 12 history to receive Freshman of the Year and Player of Year in same season (2005); played in two WCWS (2007, ’08)

  • Honors: National Player of the Year (1996) and Women’s College World Series MVP (’96); four-time National Champion; winning three as a player (1993, ’94, and ’96) and one as an assistant coach, also with Arizona (1997)

• Cheri Kempf – Tucson Super Regional
  • College: Missouri Western State
  • Honors: National Champion; National MVP; played on USA National Team that won the World Cup (1992); NPF Commissioner

• Danielle Lawrie – Eugene Super Regional

• • College: Washington
  • Honors: National Champion (2009); All-American; played for Canadian National Team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics

• Megan Willis – Norman Regional 
  • College:Texas
  • Honors: Two-time Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year (2007 and 2006); played in National Fastpitch League
