SEC Network Surrounds Every Game in 2017 SEC Baseball Tournament with On-Site Studio

Beginning Tuesday, SEC Network will again air the first, second, third, quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of the 2017 SEC Baseball Tournament – a total of 16 games – with the championship game airing on ESPN2. SEC Now, the network’s flagship news and information program, will surround the games with expert analysis and interviews multiple times each day for six days at the Hoover Met Stadium in Hoover, Ala.

The desk will report all of the happenings pre- and post-game from SEC Now’s on-site set location in the First Base Concourse. Additionally the show will air nearly a dozen features highlighting the best stories in SEC Baseball, and take viewers “Inside the Cage” [the batting cage] to demonstrate what makes key players so effective.

Hosts Dari Nowkhah and Peter Burns will be joined at the desk by baseball analysts Chris Burke, Gabe Gross, Ben McDonald, Kyle Peterson and Todd Walker over the six-day stretch. This is Walker’s first appearance at the tournament as an analyst. The former LSU player ended his college career as the SEC all-time leader in hits, RBI, runs scored and total bases. He also led the Tigers to a national championship in 1993 and was voted Most Outstanding Player of the College World Series that same year.

Laura Rutledge returns in a reporting role and Kris Budden makes her SEC Baseball Tournament debut, after providing sideline reporting for SEC Network football games this fall. In addition to live dugout reports from Rutledge and Budden, Umpires will also be mic-ed throughout the tournament to provide further depth to the game coverage.

Following the tournament, on Wednesday, May 31 at 7 p.m. ET, SEC Inside: Baseball Tournament airs on SEC Network. The show will include new vantage points and unheard sound from the teams participating in the semifinals and championship games.

The schedule and matchups will be updated throughout the tournament on SECNetwork.com. 2017 marks the third year every round of the tournament is available on national television.
