The Michael Kay Show is Named the Top Major Market Afternoon Show of the Year

Barrett Sports Media named ESPNLA 710’s Mason & Ireland top major market midday show of the year and ESPN New York’s The Michael Kay Show top major market afternoon show of the year for 2018. A total of 51 radio executives vote on this award from 30 cities and 13 companies. The selected judges use the following criteria:

• Strong ratings
• Important show/brand connection with local listeners
• Exceptional talent and content provided on a consistent basis
• Finished 2018 with the station and in the afternoon timeslot

The industry executives praised the Los Angeles duo, Mason & Ireland, for having “chemistry, consistency, and entertainment value.” Mason & Ireland are a fixture to Los Angeles for nearly two decades and their success continues to win them admiration. In addition, industry executives commended The Michael Kay Show for having “consistency in afternoons, improved performance, exposure through TV on the YES network, and strong talent, content and chemistry.”
