ESPN Reaches Multi-Year Extension with NBA Reporter & Host Cassidy Hubbarth

  • Adds Hoop Streams Twitter Pre-game Show to Extensive NBA Role
  • Continues as ESPN and ABC College Football Studio Host

ESPN today announced it has reached a multi-year extension with NBA reporter and host Cassidy Hubbarth. The nine-year ESPN veteran will continue to serve as a top reporter for ESPN and ABC NBA game telecasts throughout the season and during the NBA Playoffs, while also leading ESPN’s coverage of the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. (The 2019 event is this Friday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN).

The popular commentator will add Hoop Streams hosting responsibilities to her extensive role. Hoop Streams is ESPN’s innovative, new NBA pre-game show on Twitter. The live, on-site show streams an hour prior to NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC broadcasts and during the NBA Playoffs, the Conference Finals and NBA Finals.

Additionally, Hubbarth maintains key roles on two of ESPN’s premier properties – the NBA and college football. She will continue her role as a host for ESPN and ABC’s coverage of college football each fall.

Cassidy Hubbarth:

“I am both grateful and eager for the dynamic future that this new deal presents. Over the course of the last decade at ESPN, I have had the great opportunity to take on so many different roles, both in studio and out in the field. The diverse experience to date has proved invaluable and led me to not only two of ESPN’s most significant properties, but to two sports that I am undeniably passionate about in the NBA and college football. To put it simply, I am excited to continue to do what I love for a company that has become my home and family.”

Hubbarth will host WNBA studio coverage during the season and the WNBA Playoffs as well. She will also make appearances on other key ESPN studio shows.

Tim Corrigan, ESPN senior coordinating producer:

“We’re excited that Cassidy will remain an important part of our NBA coverage for years to come. Cassidy is passionate, committed and we love the unique skill set she brings to our team. She’s got a great spot that she’s clearly earned over the years through all of her hard work and dedication.”
