ABC’s Sunday Night Primetime Special During College Football’s Kickoff Weekend to Feature Houston at Oklahoma

  • Cougars-Sooners Now September 1 at 7:30 p.m. ET; Marks Fourth Annual Kickoff Weekend Sunday Night Primetime Game on ABC

ABC’s Sunday Night primetime special during College Football’s Kickoff Weekend will feature Houston at Oklahoma on September 1 kicking off at 7:30 p.m. ET, as the matchup shifts from its originally scheduled date of Saturday, Aug. 31. The date change and kickoff time was announced moments ago on College GameDay Built by The Home Depot live from the NFL Draft in Nashville, Tenn.

“We appreciate Houston and Oklahoma’s cooperation in sliding their matchup into a unique game window on Labor Day weekend,” said Kurt Dargis, ESPN Director of Programming and Acquisitions. “The ABC showcase game is the only FBS game scheduled for this date, which will maximize the national audience for the Cougars and Sooners’ season opener. With intriguing storylines for both teams, this is a great matchup for our special Sunday night presentation.”
