ESPN to Deliver Update Segments on The Fantasy Show with Matthew Berry and Other Platforms Including Digital and Social Throughout the Season
This football season, ESPN will host an out-of-this-world fantasy football league that will bring together a dozen superhero actors for a great cause. Through a $100,000 donation from director Joe Russo – who previously appeared as a special guest on ESPN’s Fantasy Football Now and the Fantasy Focus podcast – and his production company, AGBO, each team owner will play to raise awareness and money for charity.
The 14-team league will be hosted on ESPN.com and viewable to the public. In addition to Russo and ESPN senior fantasy analyst Matthew Berry, who will be playing for The V Foundation for Cancer Research, the league will include:
- Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man)
- Chris Evans (Captain America)
- Karen Gillan (Nebula)
- Chris Hemsworth (Thor)
- Tom Holland (Spider-Man)
- Michael B. Jordan (Killmonger)
- Anthony Mackie (Falcon)
- Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch)
- Chris Pratt (Starlord)
- Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool)
- Paul Rudd (Ant Man)
- Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic)
The Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony (directors of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame), announced the league and revealed the draft order on their Instagram (@therussobrothers) and Twitter (@Russo_Brothers) accounts.
Beginning with the draft and throughout the season, Berry – who had a cameo appearance in Avengers: Endgame – and co-host Daniel Dopp will deliver weekly segments updating the latest roster moves, analysis, and “trash talk” commentary from the league’s superhero participants on The Fantasy Show and other platforms including digital and social.
