“Who Dat?” – Sunday NFL Countdown

“Who Dat?” – Sunday NFL Countdown

(ESPN / Sunday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. ET)

The Superdome in New Orleans is home to one of the greatest traditions in the NFL – the “Who Dat?” chant. It is the rallying cry that bonds the New Orleans Saints fan base and rallies their beloved Saints on the field. (Preview)

But where did the phrase come from and how do quarterback Drew Brees, musician Aaron Neville and a former “Amazin’ Met” Ron Swoboda all play significant roles in it?

Ahead of the Saints big home matchup with the 49ers – arguably for homefield advantage in the NFC – reporter Chris Connelly and Sunday NFL Countdown revisit how a fanbase that once wore paper bags over their heads now shake the dome screaming “Who Dat?” (Producer: Aaron Johnson).
