For two weeks this summer, two of the biggest events in sport will dominate ESPN: The UEFA EURO 2016 and The Championships, Wimbledon – which culminate on July 10 when the finals for both events take place.  It will be a blockbuster day and an incredibly busy one for ESPN’s production teams around the world. In this behind-the-scenes screen test, ESPN sees if it might be possible for Ian Darke, the inimitable voice of soccer and the centerpiece of ESPN’s coverage of EURO 2016, to pull double duty at the events.

Darke, with his legendary match-calling skills, discovers quickly that calling the action on the pitch is quite different from calling the action on the court. Still, he brings his own unique perspective to Wimbledon while indulging in some of the event’s legendary fare — including the signature strawberries and cream and the traditional Pimm’s Cup.

Fortunately for fans, Darke will remain squarely focused on The EURO 2016 when ESPN, ESPN3, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Deportes Radio will present exclusive coverage from France. Additionally, ESPN’s digital hub for soccer, www.espnfc.comESPN FC on TV, SportsCenter, as well as ESPNDeportes.com, ESPN Deportes’ Fuera de Juego and Jorge Ramos y Su Banda will combine to present the most-comprehensive news and information coverage of the quadrennial football championship for Europe in the United States. Full schedule of the matches on ESPN is available here.

Chris Fowler leads the ESPN tennis team, which includes Hall of Famers Cliff Drysdale, Chrissie Evert, John McEnroe and Pam Shriver. ESPN’s exclusive coverage of The Championships, Wimbledon begins Monday, June 27, with 140 hours on TV and 1,500 on WatchESPN with action on all 15 televised courts. The fortnight will climax with the Ladies’ and Doubles Championships on ESPN on Saturday, July 9, and the Gentlemen’s Championship on Sunday, July 10.
