ESPN and ESPN Deportes Bring Together More than 40 Commentators, Analysts and Reporters for the 2015 Pan American Games

With 30 days out, the networks prepare the powerful team of more than 40 on-air personalities both onsite and in-studio to provide the most complete multiplatform coverage in English and Spanish 

As the 30-day countdown of the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games begins (July 10 – July 26), ESPN Deportes and ESPN announce a robust lineup of more than 40 on-air personalities reporting from Toronto and in-studio throughout the tournament. The team of commentators and analysts will provide unmatched, daily coverage in English and Spanish with at least 25 experts reporting onsite from Toronto and the support of the rest of team presenting in-studio coverage around the much anticipated multinational, multisport event.

ESPN assigns bilingual hosts to lead the coverage of the Games, while contributing to ESPN Deportes’ Spanish-language coverage. ESPN’ digital reporter Antonietta “Toni” Collins and SportsCenter anchor Max Bretos will serve as main hosts for the English-language presentation of the 2015 Games. Their coverage will be supplemented by contributions of several bilingual ESPN Deportes’ on-air personalities including boxing expert Bernardo Osuna and soccer & track and field expert Fernando Palomo, who was a member of El Salvador’s National Track and Field team and is the country’s record-holder in the javelin throw.  In addition, Dominican boxer, Delvin Rodriguez, will join the team in Toronto covering all boxing. Dorothy Franco-Reed will be analyst for volleyball, while Dan Shulman and Fran Fraschilla will serve as play-by-play for the men’s basketball games – all four will be featured in the English-language world feed of the Games, in their respective sports.

ESPN Deportes’ top talent will come together in Toronto to provide multiplatform content. The diverse roster includes a team of experts with experience and knowledge in different sport categories led by legendary, Mexican sports journalist Jose Ramon Fernandez, who has covered the last nine Olympic Games and several Pan American Games alongside renowned sports commentator David Faitelson, who has covered the last five Summer Olympic Games. Other recognized on-air personalities reporting from Toronto, include Andres Agulla, Carolina Guillen, Mauricio Pedroza, Poncho Vera, Ricardo Ortiz, Tlatoani Carrera and Leon Lecanda. In addition, digital influencer and sports journalist Eugenia Karolyi will join the ESPN Deportes’ team onsite as the official social media reporter.

An impressive team of in-studio experts and former athletes with over three decades of experience combined will support the team onsite, including one of the most recognized voices for Hispanic football and basketball fans Alvaro Martin, alongside former basketball coach Carlos Morales, and college football and tennis expert Eduardo “Lalo” Varela. Former Pan American champions including former Mexican national diver Cristina Millán; Raúl Gonzalez, two-time Olympic medalist in race walking; former long distance runner Javier Clavelo; and Franco-Reed.

ESPN Digital platforms and Deportes Radio talent will also bring Pan Am Games’ action. Bonnie Ford and Jim Caple will be in Toronto reporting for Kenneth Garay, host of Firma ESPN, and Jose Del Valle, co-host of Jorge Ramos y Su Banda will lead radio coverage with a team of experts, including Jose Rivera, Giovanni Scavia, Carlos Nava and Gonzalo Aguirregomezcorta – some of whom will also report for

ESPN Deportes, ESPN and ESPN2 will provide exclusive, multimedia coverage of the XVII Pan American Games Toronto 2015 in English and Spanish. ESPN and ESPN 2 will dedicate more than 65 hours of live coverage while ESPN Deportes will present more than 200 hours of Olympic-type coverage of the event. Through the 17-day event, ESPN and ESPN Deportes will present wide coverage of all the action, focusing on all sports categories and countries while following the stories behind the athletes and their performances.
