ESPN Kicks Off NFL Wild Card Weekend with Colts vs. Texans

Airs Saturday, Jan. 5, at 4:35 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC, ESPN Deportes and the ESPN App

ESPN will open the 2019 NFL Wild Card Weekend on Saturday, January 5, at 4:35 p.m. ET with the Indianapolis Colts (10-6) vs. Houston Texans (11-5). The AFC South rivalry matchup will air on ESPN and be simulcast on ABC. The game will also be available in Spanish on ESPN Deportes and streamed live on the ESPN App.

Monday Night Football’s Joe Tessitore, Jason Witten and Booger McFarland will call the game with reporter Lisa Salters from NRG Stadium in Houston. MNF producer Jay Rothman and director Chip Dean – working their 28th season together (13th on MNF) – will produce the Wild Card game. The ESPN Deportes team includes Eduardo Varela, Pablo Viruega and reporter John Sutcliffe.

Suzy Kolber Hosts ESPN/ABC Wild Card Pregame Show from NRG Stadium – 3 p.m. ET

Leading into Colts-Texans, Suzy Kolber will host a special Postseason NFL Countdown (3 p.m., ESPN and ABC) live from NRG Stadium with analysts Matt Hasselbeck, Randy Moss, Charles Woodson, Steve Young and Louis Riddick. Salters will provide team updates. Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter will contribute to the show from the Bristol, Conn. studios. Features:

  • Matt Hasselbeck Conversation with Andrew Luck – Countdown’s Hasselbeck sits with his former Colts teammate to discuss Luck’s comeback season and the Wild Card game.
  • Keyshawn Johnson Conversation with Deshaun Watson – ESPN’s Johnson interviews the Texans second-year quarterback before he makes his NFL Playoff debut.
